Sales for the quarter ended October 31, 2022 were $322.6 million compared to $321.5 million in the same quarter last year. By segment, sales increased 3.1 percent in Identification Solutions and decreased 9.1 percent in Workplace Safety, which consisted of an organic sales increase of 8.6 percent in Identification Solutions and an organic sales increase of 1.2 percent in Workplace Safety. Income before income taxes increased 12.6 percent to $50.3 million for the quarter ended October 31, 2022, compared to $44.7 million in the same quarter last year. Income Before Income Taxes Excluding Certain Items* for the quarter ended October 31, 2022, which was adjusted for amortization expense of $3.6 million, was $54.0 million, an increase of 11.3 percent compared to the first quarter of last year.
